My Mother who was Halles close friend and makeup artist for 16 years told me about this story years ago. She told me that Halle was never homeless and always had a roof over her head and food in her stomach. She told me that Halle made up this story so the public would feel that she struggled as an actress and feel sorry for her. My Mother told me that Halle told her that is was a great manufactured crap story and it always worked when she gave interviews.
